How to run Christmas Connection
Bringing Christmas Connection to your community is simple, low-impact, and fully resourced.

Sign up
Fill out our two-minute online form to register your church or organisation for Christmas Connection and request your free resource kit.

Receive your kit
We’ll send you everything you need to set up a Christmas Connection stall in your foyer, hall or classroom - including posters, a flat-pack display stand, a set of gift cards, and a cardboard ‘Message Mailbox’ for collecting messages.

Invite your congregation
Three to four weeks before Advent Sunday, begin preparing your church for Christmas Connection. Promote the opportunity to give during your services and share details in your newsletter.

Run Christmas Connection
During Advent, people in your church can directly fund vital Anglicare services by selecting a card from the display and either making a secure digital donation, or completing a physical giving slip.

Share a message of encouragement
After donating, people in your church can fill out a Connection Card with a message or prayer, and drop it into your church’s Mailbox. After each Sunday, clear the mailbox and simply return the contents in the reply-paid envelope supplied.

Delivery of care and connection
Our frontline teams hand-deliver your hand-written Connection Cards to people in need alongside their chaplaincy, financial support and family support services throughout the year.

How you can share practical help
People in your church or organisation will browse our 12 gift cards on a Display Stand (provided by Anglicare). They select a card that represents a real Anglicare service, such as community pantry groceries, foster care or face-to-face financial counselling. They can scan the QR code to make a secure digital donation, or complete a giving envelope in person.
Writing a message of encouragement
How you can connect with a neighbour
Once people have selected their Gift Card and made their donation, we would love for them to write a personal message of encouragement or prayer on the tear off Connection Card. They drop their completed postcard into the 'Message Mailbox' (part of the free setup kit), and our teams hand-deliver these messages to people receiving Anglicare's services throughout the year, reminding them they are valued and prayed for.
